A Cranial Remolding Orthosis (CRO) or cranial remolding helmet, is a medical device used to treat infant head shape deformities, including plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, and scaphocephaly. Helmet therapy is typically effective for infants between 3 and 18 months of age, with the best outcomes achieved when treatment begins at a younger age. Early intervention is preferred because skull growth slows as an infant gets older, reducing the rate of correction over time.
